DJI Mavic Air Charging From Battery Packs and Solar Charging

31/05/2018 0

DJI Mavic Air Solar Charging Introduction I love my Mavic Air, but have to admit that at 20 mins flight time per battery (in perfect conditions), battery life is not one of its strong points! I have the fly-more package with the three batteries, but still run out of juice – although as my drone skills improve, my decent-footage to battery ratio is getting better! Many of my trips where I wish to use my Air are multi-day backpacking, cycling Read More

Lochs Ericht, Laggan and a Ski Tour

01/04/2018 0

With a half decent forecast and a new drysuit (Palm Fuse) to test it was time to get back out in the pack raft (boat) again. I left fairly late and headed up to Dalwhinnie with the intention of having a paddle on Loch Ericht. Loch Ericht initially looked promising so off I went looking for a place to launch; as is all too common, while I was setting up the boat, the wind started blowing. The initial paddle was Read More

Chinese Car Charger For DJI Mavic Air Drone

20/03/2018 0

UPDATE: I Have now used this for three weekends away to charge the Mavic Air’s batteries when away in my Motorhome. It works very well, charges 2 batteries from empty well within an hour, and their behavior (eg flight time) matches that when the stock mains charger is used. So, I wanted to be able to charge the batteries for my new DJI Mavic Air while away in my motorhome and also from a 12V battery pack when off grid. Read More

I love visiting the Scottish islands, and there is limited scope for Packrafting without sticking your boat in the sea, Read More

Cairngorms Indecision (Corbetts | knackered fridge | buggered website)

29/11/2017 0

A weekend at home had been the plan, but then I saw the forecast which was pretty decent especially the Cairngorms – and I have Corbetts to bag. Now where I live, you can’t afford to ignore a half-decent forecast as it won’t last very long – and you’ll be kicking yourself for not having made good use of it! Given the significant snowfall during the week, I threw the ski’s in ‘just in case’, defrosted the van and headed Read More

29/10/2017 6

Welcome to my guide to Motorhome Internet Access! I use my motor home to head for the mountains to walk/ski/cycle and I am a bit of a geek.
